The name comes from “Sir Ernesto Lionelli,” and, since 1975, it has come a long way. Until the new turn

Founded in 1975, Eurosirel is a leading Italian company in the medical devices and cosmetics sector. With over 50 years of experience, it was the first Italian-owned company to invest in medical devices, establishing itself as a major player internationally.

Matteo Scarpis, CEO, what is the history of Eurosirel?
«Eurosirel was born in 1975 thanks to Ernesto Lionelli, a visionary and courageous entrepreneur. The company’s name, in fact, comes from its founder, “Sir Ernesto Lionelli”. Eurosirel was the first Italian company to invest in the medical device sector, and then expanded throughout Europe to become a benchmark in the industry. This year the company has started a new chapter: it has been 100% acquired by two investment funds, Alto Partners and Arca Space Capital, which have given me their trust by allowing me to lead this reality. It is a great responsibility, but also a great honor».

In this new chapter, what are the main products and services you offer?
«Eurosirel deals with the production and distribution of medical devices and cosmetics, all strictly Made in Italy. We serve different market segments, including large-scale distribution, the pharmaceutical industry and e-commerce. In the medical sector, our core business is patches, ranging from post-operative to pain patches. We like to consider ourselves “master and commander” in this field. In the cosmetics sector, we produce beauty masks for the face, hand and foot treatments, lip balms and specific products for acne treatment».

You have a presence in more than 60 countries around the world. What is your approach to the global market?
«Our goal is to expand further. We currently serve two main types of customers: large retailers, so the major European retailers, and the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry, for which we develop customized products. We are working to expand outside Europe, particularly in the United States and Asia, to consolidate our international presence».

What is Eurosirel’s corporate mission?
«To make high-quality health and beauty devices accessible to all citizens of the world. We firmly believe that every person should have the opportunity to take care of themselves with effective and safe products. Currently, Eurosirel serves the equivalent of one in two households in Europe, an achievement we are very proud of. Our goal is to continue to grow, always ensuring accessibility and quality».

What are your main strengths compared to your competitors?
«Three aspects set us apart. First, our deep knowledge of the medical device industry, which allows us to develop regulatory-compliant products with great agility. Second, our high number of certifications: we receive a new certification every three days, between customer and institutional audits. Third, our focus on innovation: we constantly invest in research and development to offer cutting-edge solutions and continuously improve our products».

Speaking of innovation, has there been any recent development at Eurosirel?
«A new pain patch based on infrared technology. It uses body heat to promote muscle relaxation and relieve pain naturally, without the need for chemical active ingredients. This product was developed in collaboration with a major pharmaceutical company and was recently launched in some European countries».

Looking to the future, where do you see Eurosirel?
«
We are in a period of strong growth, and the first step is to expand our production capacity: we plan to expand our space from 15,000 to 25,000 square meters to meet growing market demand. In addition, we want to enter new product categories and strengthen our presence in strategic markets such as the United States and Asia. With an extraordinary and highly qualified team, I am confident that Eurosirel will continue to be a benchmark in the industry for the next 50 years».

Eurosirel, with a strong commitment to research and development, looks to the future with ambition, aiming to expand its global presence and introduce new technologies in the medical and cosmetic sectors.
